Hernand Service Hub
A structured field guide to Hernand's confirmed shops, practical services and settlement-arrival circuit.
Hernand is treated as a regional service hub: a place to stabilise inventory, inspect equipment, prepare a mount and collect local work before continuing into the surrounding region.
First-arrival circuit
Section titled “First-arrival circuit”Follow this sequence on the first visit:
1. Reveal local map information before planning a route.
2. Activate or identify the nearest usable travel point.
3. Deposit overflow in Private Storage.
4. Inspect the smithy before spending refinement materials.
5. Inspect saddlery stock if using a Wolf or Bear special mount.
6. Check provisioner, equipment shop and local requests.
The order matters. Depositing overflow before shopping prevents accidental sales, while inspecting the smithy before refining prevents duplicate-equipment or Abyss Artifact gates from being discovered after materials are committed.
Service register
Section titled “Service register”This table is generated from the canonical world data record.
| Service | Evidence | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Private Storage | community | Deposit equipment, duplicate weapons, mount food and materials before continuing a route. |
| Smithy | community | Compare, refine and extract equipment after creating a manual save. |
| Saddlery | official | Sells special-mount saddles for Wolves and Bears. |
| Provisioner's Shop | official | Stocks general provisions; the Flower Basket was added in Patch 1.11.00. |
| Equipment Shop | official | Stocks equipment and the book Ranged Weapons of the World - Bows, Vol. I added in Patch 1.11.00. |
| Requests and general vendors | community | Check local requests and specialist vendors before leaving the settlement. |
Confirmed shop intelligence
Section titled “Confirmed shop intelligence”Hernand Saddlery
Section titled “Hernand Saddlery”Patch 1.06.00 identifies Hernand as the saddlery for Wolf and Bear special-mount saddles. These saddles are separate equipment; special mounts no longer display a saddle as part of their default appearance.
Use Hernand when:
- a Wolf or Bear has already been registered;
- the mount needs its own equipment rather than character or horse tack;
- comparing special-mount equipment before committing a long overland route.
Provisioner’s Shop
Section titled “Provisioner’s Shop”Patch 1.11.00 added the Flower Basket to the Hernand Provisioner’s Shop. The guide records this as a confirmed stock change, not as an essential purchase.
Equipment Shop
Section titled “Equipment Shop”Patch 1.11.00 added Ranged Weapons of the World - Bows, Vol. I to the Hernand Equipment Shop. Check the shop when auditing books, knowledge or ranged-equipment availability.
Smithy workflow
Section titled “Smithy workflow”The smithy should be treated as a decision point, not a routine upgrade station:
- make a manual save;
- compare the proposed item against the active character and task;
- confirm whether identical-equipment refinement is still available at the current level;
- inspect any Abyss Artifact requirement;
- choose between refine, extract, store or leave unchanged;
- verify the result before continuing.
See Gear, Refinement & Extraction for the complete material decision model.
Storage and restock policy
Section titled “Storage and restock policy”Deposit:
- duplicate weapons or armour kept for comparison;
- special refinement materials;
- mount food not needed on the current route;
- books, quest-adjacent items or unusual equipment whose value is unclear;
- resources collected for later settlement or camp work.
Carry:
- one deliberate combat loadout;
- the healing and mount food needed for the next route;
- only the refinement materials being used immediately;
- enough free capacity for rewards and gathered materials.
Route-planning value
Section titled “Route-planning value”Hernand is most useful as a reset point between activities. Before leaving, answer four questions:
- Where is the nearest activated travel return point?
- Is the next activity combat, gathering, exploration or mount handling?
- Is the active character carrying the correct equipment and resistance profile?
- Is there enough free inventory space to complete the route without destroying or selling uncertain items?
A route is not efficient if it saves two minutes of travel but forces a long return because storage, mount equipment or healing was ignored.
Verification backlog
Section titled “Verification backlog”The following remain deliberately unpromoted:
- exact coordinates for every service entrance;
- shortest timed loop through storage, smithy, saddlery and shops;
- faction, bounty and request-board refresh behaviour;
- nearby gathering routes and their current yields;
- opening hours or state-based access restrictions, if any.
These require current-patch screenshots or reproducible route logs.
